87 4runner Softer ride for all around usage ? Any ideas

Hi guys
I have a 87 4runner that is bone stock ifs this thing rides like crap. What's a cost effective way to make it ride softer? I dont really fair about making it any taller. Anyone know of a coil conversion or better torsion bars? Air ride what do you think?

The IFS is a decent suspension as far as ride quality. Take a look at your lower control arms, are they angled down a lot? If so, that indicates that the torsion bars needs to be turned down a bit. Also, how old are your shocks? They might need to be replaced.

its a truck. its gonna be a little rough. maybe some SR5 seat, they are super comfy. you said its all stock. so i bet the shocks are all blown or weak. the rear end is sagging and bet your bouncing off the bump stop.

better seats
new shocks all around
fix rear sag. i used "zuk mod"
if you got the money, get brand new leaf from factory
bj spacers up front and relax the torsion if its too much of a lift.

this should give a better ride but it still wont be no caddy

Thanks for th quick response guys it has new shocks all the way around the rear of the truck dose sag a bit how would I go about adjusting the torsion bars without screewing up the ailment? Would new rear leafs help? The front is what seams hard.
I have upgraded the seats to 3 erd gen sd5 much more comfortable indeed!

Mark the head of each bolt and a spot on the bracket so you have a reference point and turn the bolt for the LH and RH torsion bar the same amount of turns.

Could also Install Ball joint spacers, then relax the bars back to stock height. Make sure your bumpstops are are all there. Also check your control arm bushings to make sure they are in good shape.
