88 22re swap questions

Hi, was wondering if there are any(or many) differences with a 22re truck motor vs a 4Runner? Also what years either up or down. Thanks for your help!

Stick with blocks/heads made in 1985 and up. Block and head height are different from earlier years and do not mix well with each other. Motor mount location might be a concern, if you are pulling one from a 2WD truck it would be a good idea to check first.
