Auto Temp Control / Dual Zone Swap in a 2024

Hi folks, I tried to search but it is a challenging site to search well. On the internet as a whole I've seen mention of a couple people saying they have completed the swap and a lot of people advising against it.

My questions is about what is possible not what is a good idea. I added it to my 2018 dodge ram 3500 tradesman and it was a great upgrade and really not that hard.

I can look at the parts fiche and it pretty clearly identifies all the parts that are different. The controls, the wiring harness, temp and sunlight sensors, portions of the evaporator/blower.

Have anyone actually done it that can advise on if you need to buy the whole evaporator setup or if you can swap about the sub components that are different. Is there any programming required to enable the feature?

Yes, it's technically possible, but on a 2024 Ram it's more involved than earlier trucks. You'll likely need the automatic HVAC control module, sensors, wiring, and possibly the entire HVAC case if the dual-zone blend doors differ. Programming/configuration is usually required as well (often via AlfaOBD or dealer-level tools). I haven't seen a confirmed 2024 retrofit documenting that the existing HVAC box can be converted with subcomponents alone.
