88 4Runner starts then dies

Hello all! I'm new to the site & could use some help as my truck is not running and I'm kinda stranded.

My 88 4Runner with 2.4L 22RE engine has been running fine until last night. Started up then died within 5 seconds and has been doing the same since. Checked spark at all cylinders and coil - all good.

Anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking fuel pump has gone out.

I am having the exact same problem! only on an 87. i am about to go insane. i replaced the fuel pump and filter. that seemed to work for a week, then it happened again. i tried numerous times to get it started this morning, and finally got it to run. now it is stranded where i work and will NOT run for more than a few seconds before dying. if you have gotten anywhere with this let me know what you did. thanks !
