88' suspension!!

What's up guys? So I have a first generation 4runner(88 4x4 4cyl 5spd). Just got some $$$ and have been driving it for a good while and ready to get started on the work. I'm between buying a new suspension sytem(even I it's just shocks.) don't do much off-roadin, just little things here and there; mainly a daily driver. That, if not headers. The rig feels like it's in the Sahara when driving down the road. Want to know if anyone knows whether gas or air shocks would be best? Looked at some blistiens 5125 on yotamasters.com and don't seem bad. HELP!!!!!

Are you just looking for shocks, or a complete suspension?

Are you looking to lift?
Are you looking to fix the rear sag (which looks like your truck has).
Or Just a smoother ride?

Yes, OME upgrade is properly-engineered and time-proven system. May just look awkward if you stick to stock or even 235-75 tires. 31's would look good!

IF indeed your truck has the rear sag, fixing it would help make the ride comfortable because truck will regain some spring action. (With sag, truck rests on the overload springs that are stiff.)
After fixing the sag, replacement shocks will still be necessary if your existing ones are shot.

I Zuk'd mine ($70 for black magic springs) to return to stock height, used Ranchos in rear and inexpensive Monroes that allow stock travel in front, and am very happy with the results. Now I stay at max legal speed limit when passing dips on the road where newer, fancier Soccer-Mom Utility Vehicles slow down - LOL!
