881/891 Rake?

Does anyone else run 881/891s on here? If so, how much rake do you have in the front? Mine rakes so much that my 285's scrub a LOT. I'm considering adding spacers to level it out, but am also curious if it is the Rough Country shocks I'm running.

I don't have any decent pictures of it with the lift and 285's, but I do have one with the 265's still on it. This picture is actually on a slight hill, so doesn't really do the rake justice, but if you look at tire to top of wheel well you can see the huge difference:

I've got 891's. My front is adjustable coil-overs which are not cranked all the way up b/c the front would sit too high compared to the rear. My 285/75/16's rubbed bad! without wheel spacers, so bad that I couldn't mount the tires and drive home on them. I had to get a pair of spacers (All Pro 1.25'') to get them mounted safely. Now they only rub at full lock and barely. Don't notice it unless I'm in a parking lot making sharp turn out. I assume you're talking about topout spacers for your shocks though. I'm not sure what to do their... That's why I went with coil-overs :-) Cost more but in the end I'm glad I waited for them
 
Yeah I am on a tight budget. I like the stance I have so don't really want to go spacers. I really shouldn't have to given that my tires are not very aggressive at all.
 
I have 881/890's installed adn its racked more than I like.

they were supposed to put in 882's cause I am adding a front bumper.

no rubbing cause I still have stock tires on there.
 
Where exactly are you rubbing? If its on the UCA then lifting the front isn't going to help you. You will need some wheel spacers to move the tire away from the UCA
 
Nah, but I can get some tomorrow. I don't mind taking a hammer to it, but I'd also like it to look level.

Could I level it out with spacers without taking the coilovers apart again?
 
I trimmed this weekend and my rubbing has gone away, but I still have a significant rake. I noticed the 881's are not rated for 3 inches of lift and ToyTec recommends adding top plate spacers to reach the full 3 inches in the front.

Question is: do I need a coil compressor to do the install? I am assuming I do, since it requires removing the studs, but I wanted to check and see.

Also, do you guys think I'd need an alignment after the top-plate spacer install?
 
So I trimmed and hammed the wells and it solved the problem for a bit but now whenever I pull into my driveway or go up a bump with the wheels turned at all the tires go slamming into my wells and rub... I can't figure out what to do!
 
I currently have 881/890's cause that is what got installed. ordered 882's. so I have the same rake you have. waiting to get the 882's that were supposed to be put on today, but the wrong ones were shipped again. so hopefully friday. guess ARB felt bad so they are adding an air down kit to me as a sorry they screwed up. oh well.

had to put off the new tires cause I need an alignment before I put on new shoes.

I got some LC wheels that will let me do 285's with out spacers. if I go that big of tire
 
Well like I said, I'm not scrubbing anymore so this is really purely cosmetic. I REALLY hate the rake. I want it to look level, so the spacers should do just that. I suppose I could go 882's, but I don't really need them as I am wanting to get the AOR tube bumper which won't add much weight up front.

I am also considering ditching my Nitrochargers in the rear in favor of some Bilsteins or maybe just going cheaper altogether since I don't do any sort of flexing. We'll see. Right now I just want to get the front sorted out.

yeah, I got the 882s for just that. bumper weight and winch. I think you can do 883's I think, cause there not rated for as much weight. but I dont know that for sure.
I dont like the rake I have now cause my head lights are on the ground 10 ft in front of me. lol
waiting to get the 882's so I dont have to adjust them.

I plan on doing something with my rims too. painting that is. got some LC wheels too, so I will have two sets so I can try two colors. yeahoo
 
I'm in the process of painting my rims now. Can't decide whether to bedline them again or go graphite.

And back on subject, I don't want to have to change coils unless I absolutely have to. I'm going to try the spacers and hope for the best.
 
Yeah, I'm riding stock rims. I'm trying to pinpoint exactly where it's hitting cause it rubs bad when I go over hump with a turned wheel. The kind of humps like pulling into your driveway or a gas station, etc. It's weird cause when on a flat surface and I turn the wheel completely left or right, no rubbing what so ever... I guess bumps are just shoving the wheel back a bit forcing it into the wells..
 
I had rubbing with my 881's and 285's until i did the one inch body lift then it was a non issure. Shortly after that I switched to 882's though cuz i bought a winch bumper. my 2 cents

I run 881's and the top plate spacers with my 285's on my '02 and I have only one rubbing issue and that's a little frame rub at full lock right. Suspension cycles fine The 881+ TO spacer gave me about 3" of lift. The 881 is advertised as giving 2". I got a bit more since the 02's sat lowest of all the 3rd gen's.
