881/906 vs modified ss7.2

hey guys sorry for so many questions about lifts and tires. I think I have it narrowed to 2 choices but don't really understand the logic behind one spring vs the other. If I went 881/906 I would use standard shocks. The other possibility I am looking at is the 7.2 kit but not using the 890 and instead using 906. The front being slightly adj would mean I can make my roughly 2" lift that I want.

Now the comparison is why use 881 over tundra or tundra over 881. Cost is not much of an issue but ride quality and handling are. I also am debating between steve's custom valved bilsteins vs the ome standards. Will I notice a difference between any of this? I almost think I am splitting hairs since which ever kit I get I will not have anything to actually drive and compare to.

What's everyones thoughts...

Bay, i looked at same comparison before deciding on mine. what it came down to was simply the overall cost. Both are great quality. SS is much more expensive, will you get anything more out of it versus a simple OME lift? doubtful.

one of the things to consider is that the OME front shocks are extended length and a bit too long for the 4runner's suspension travel. This leads to excessive droop if you don't have limiting straps, which in certain extreme offroading situations can lead to excessive CV angle and failure.

crackiswack- thanks for the warning. I really don't intend to do that extreme of wheeling mostly fireroads and some snow stuff.

I just talked with Jaque at TRDparts4u and he said that the tundra coil will be slightly stiffer than OME. Has anyone compared the 2?

So I have read a huge thread over on yotatech describing the tundra spring for the front and it sounds like I can get 1.5" without a top-plate and 2" with. ss7.2 comes with an 890 for the rear but will that be too high or do I want 906 to be even?

why not just give steve a call. i learn something ever time i spoke with him. it doesn't cost you anything except some minutes.
