89 4R seat swap...any experience?

Hey all

Looking to put new (to me) seats in my 89 4R, as the stockers might be the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in.
I wandered a pick-and-pull yard yesterday and found some that have the same type brackets, etc but nothing looked just right. (You also can't test fit parts in yards like that, you have to pay for the parts first) Also, most don't offer the flip and slide function on the passenger side. Anyone know if any other Toyota seats would be a direct swap? I'm sure other Toy truck seats would go, but as they're all still on the road, they're not in junkyards yet!
If not, is it within reason to get other seats and put them on the rails from my current seats? Or are they welded in?
Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

You may be able to swap something else onto your seat rails.

VW Golf GTi's and Jetta GLi's came with Recaro seats that sit about the same off the floor as a Toyota. You may try looking for a MkII GTi or GLi (1986 thru 1993) with Recaros. Lower models also had comfy seats if the sport seats are too confining.

Most 2 door import cars have the fold-n-slide pass seat like the 1st gen Runners.
