89 Runner - Good or Bad Idea?

Glad someone picked it up. Id swap the hubs to AISIN factory hubs if you can find a set. Do all your normal stuff like oil changes, trans/rad flush, bleed brakes, check your brake lines, and change the sparkplugs. And most importantly, have fun! Better tires wouldnt hurt either haha.

So, the previous owner just let me know that he has gone through 3 idler arms in the last 2 years. Vehicle pulls to the right, it is worse at higher speeds. I took it in for an alignment and my mechanic said we need to take a look at the lift kit as a source for this extreme wear on the idler. Any insight on this from anyone here?

that is weird as that thing is not lifted really very high if at all.
Is the frame straight? I'd look for frame damage on the right side
Wonder is an 'A' arm is tweaked. Bearings in good shape? tires balanced? Ball joints good? etc.

edit: forgot the OP has posted pics. I have been driving toyotas for 30+ years, not sure what company made that 'A' arm. it is a funky design, not sure if you could replace it with stock arms.

definitely worth tracking down the pulling right issue, could just be bushings in arms..overall that thing is well equipped

I'm scheduled to take it to Mike's off-road here in Bozeman next week. These guys know their toys and will do a full inspection and make a plan of attack that falls within my budget. I'm about to start sanding and prepping for paint. Gonna shoot it matte black in a couple weeks. I'll post pics. I'm new here, so bear with me. I'm glad I found this community. Did give it a bath, installed some new Silverstar headlights, and put the Cooper AT3's on.
