I have a question on a water pump. I have a '89 Runner 3.0 V6, manual, all stock. It has 124,000 miles and I'm in the middle of changing the timing belt. Nobody did much with this vehicle and I discovered an oil leak somewhere in the front of the motor. 22 years of dirt and grime to see much... Anyway, I bought a water pump with a 1/2" +/- hose port at the thermostat housing. Being a mechanic in the making , I discovered the waterpump on the truck does not have this hose port. Should I have it or not?
The reason I ask is that I need a radiator as well and was told that the hose port should connect to the heater. I probably don't have great heat in the cab. Which I don't. I bought a Haynes book and it doesn't show a port or really go into specifics on where hoses go for heater connection. Please HELP!!!!
