3.0 has no throttle..tried everything
ok so the title says it all i have a 89 4runner with a 3.0 and it runs but wont rev up just idles kinda low i replaced the throttle sensor i replaced fuel filter mass airflow sensor plugs wires rotor cap disconnected the cat converter ..ran the diagnostic (watched the flashes) and got ect iat ecu tp ..i think thats it lol im the 3rd owner and have all the service records i have a couple buddys that i usually go to for help but we are all stumped i need some help i want my truck runin ..

That seems really odd. Did this just happen out of the blue or did it creep up on you bit by bit? When you hit the gas it does nothing? Linkage is attached? How about a compression test?

I kind of wonder about the TPS setting..try unplugging the TPS at the sensor and see if it is able to rev. If so, I would test the sensor per the FSM and try to re-adjust it.

It's a possibility that there is a voltage drop at the ECU, the only way to know for sure is to test each pin. I would test the sensors themselves first and if there is no problem move to the pin test at the ECU. I still strongly reccomend that you unplug your TPS and try to rev it, you have nothing to lose and it would take all of 3 minutes.

sry i did try unpluggin it and i did readjust it and idles a lil better ...idles at about 500 revs to 800 -1000 then chokes ..
