Trip went great. I have been horrible about keeping this updated. 23 states, 11 National Parks and 7,041 miles in 15 days. My favorite NP was Glacier and our favorite state was Montana.

We did make it to Moab, but didn't doo too much extreme stuff because my rear axles seals started leaking in WY on the way out and by the time we got home the rear brakes were not doing much.
We also had to cut out some wheeling in CO, but did make it over to Mesa Verde NP.
Also clicked over 200K miles on the trip somewhere in MO. Now ~ 206,500
I bought my Tundra brake upgrade and need to either get my friend's shop to do the swap or find time to get it done.

tint front windows
figure out what my front end noise is and fix (hoping U-joints that I finally lubed yesterday)
CEL light hand fix (I think O2 sensor)
new TRE's Outer for sure
Lower BJs May do uppers as well.
Mount full sized spare tire
Get roof rack set-up for trip including best place for cargo box (Added a 3rd bar last weekend and moved the fairing to just over the windshield.
buy a hitch cargo basket
Install CB and get it tuned. (How else would I be able to find out what's up with traffic on I-40?)
work on sleeping arrangements for the rear (Memory foam mat and possible platform?)
Install Light Force 140s on the factory front bumper and make them work as high beams.
Possibly make front windshield and side window shades out of Reflectix

I also got most of these finished.

I did not get the window and windshield shades and/or screens nor the hitch basket idea, ended up not needing that much cargo area once I got my rack set-up how I wanted it. Also did not end up needing a sleeping platform although it would have helped with movign things around at night. But 2" memory foam I bought worked wonders.

The front end noise comes and goes, I think it may be the angle of my CVs. Still need to get a diff spacer.
LF 140s are still not wired, I know lazy I sure could have used them on my trip too. I am strongly considering taking the DDM 6K's out and replacing them with some Silverstars or similar.

Took a road rip over to AL about a month ago to finally get me a DD.

'95 T100 Ext cab sr5 4x4 3.4, 5 spd - Hoping to make it a nice DD, camping and hauling vehicle. This picture was taken at Cave Springs, GA on the way back home.

Also had to do a little surgery on the 4runner a few weeks ago:

No accident, just prepping for this:

It needs some cleaning up, a repaint and a few other things, but for the $ I couldn't turn it down.
Went camping with my Cruiser club for our annual meeting and ran up to NC in the T100 and finally picked up a front bumper for the 4runner.

Working on getting some brackets as this one was modified for a 2" BL on a Taco.

Ghetto rigged so planning to get them reworked and done right.

Planning to rework my tranny cooler mounting:

The fleet for now. (Sport Trac is my parents, we are doing a little work to it for them.) Hoping I can get some $ for an old car in the net few years. I'm starting to miss my '63 Chevys (I have owned 3) :bluejump: .

Progress:

Sure is nice working at a Technical College.

Plan to finish it up tomorrow. Its about as close as you can get it considering I didnt really have any decent brackets with it. I think it looks good though, its up nice and close, with just enough clearance for flexing/movement.

Then I can clean it up some and hopefully get it looking as nice as the rest of the truck.

I picked these up last night after work. Gotta love Craigslist!



5 Total 315/75/16 BFG ATs on Super Duty 8x170mm rims
1 new, 2 ~ 50%, 2~ 25%

I am either going to sell the super duty rims or possibly keep them to run on my van once I convert it to 4x4. (Gotta buy a van first too.



I finally got my spidertrax spacers from Jim C at Logans Run, so now all I need to do is find another set of spacers, install the 2" BL I have in the garage, finally swap over to my new front suspension setup then I can get the tires mounted up and front end aligned. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for another new or close to it 315.

After I get everything mounted up I'll have to figure out getting my front and rear bumpers adjusted for the BL and start shopping for sliders. Flat belly or close to it and skids will be before too long. I'm going to stick with the 4.30 gears for now unless I see a deal on some 4.88s.

Wow, bveen awhile since I updated over here.

I decided against the 35's I drive too much and wheel too little to go that route. I did a 2" BL and then decided this so I need to pull it back off.Thankfully it's not too much work. I decided I want to go with some 265/75/16s. Now if I could only find a decent set at a decent price.

Had a bad vibration over Thanksgiving, almost did not make it home. Ended up being my driveshaft. The DC portion was shot. Called the local recomended place and after they woudl not give me a general quote without me dropping it off. (1+ hr away) I went the JY route. Bought one for $100 swapped it in. I got everything swapped over and vibes are gone. Good to know that my tires and front suspension are good as I thought it may be either of those originally.

Brake swap in progress:

I went with the 231mm calipers, new brake hose on pass side, leaving only the rear flex brake line as the only part in the brake system I have not replaced other than the hard lines. I did find a leak in the master cyl that I replaced last year. Thankfully it has a lifetime warranty.

Advance Auto part #'s
Calipers: SLC9950 and SLC9951
Rotors: Wearever - YH145291
Pad's: Originally ordered Wearever Ceramic CNAD 906 but these were wrong.
Brake line: I have had for awhile, when you buy one be sure that the ends match the factory style. Circle with the sides cut off and not the hex style as they will not mount into the factory mount and clip.
I am going to have to dig for the pads I went with as replacements, they seem to be producing a lot of brake dust, but only time will tell.

Now it is time to get the BL pulled off and the front suspension swapped over (I have some OME shocks and springs in the garage) and find some 265/75/16s to mount onto my Enduro XD rims. 265s seem to be harder to find in good shape used with enough tread to mess with.

Installed new front shocks and springs a month or so back. Huge improvement in ride comfort.

OME and 883's

Then finally found a deal on some new tires to mount up on the XD Enduros that I bought 3 or 4 months back. I couldn't justify paying $600 + for tires and people with used sets wanted almost as much I wanted to spend on a new set. After being patient I go a set of 265/75/16 Cooper AT3's for <$400 shipped to my door. Got them to mount them up at work so I'm rolling on a new set of rims and tires for <$800.

Now I really need to pull that 2" BL off. Also need to find a buyer for my old 255's and factory 5 star rims.
Just rolled 230K last week and purring along, average MPG is back up to ~ 16mpg and comfort is way up between the new shocks/springs and the new tire combo.

Made it over to Gulches with a friend of mine. Had the most fun on 56? Made me miss my km2s these 32" Cooper ATs were ok but we're a little short on a few things.

He's got a nice 40 on 35's


Gulches is about 30 min from my house. Might end up over there more often sure beats driving 3hrs+ each way to wheel.

Got the 4Runner front end aligned on Thursday. Was thinking I may need to replace some items but they said it was just way out of alignment. We will see once I get the replacement tires. I think the steering rack or inner tie rod end might be bad as I'm still getting some vibration. One tire is worn bad so maybe the tire is my issue. Might rotate to try and isolate.

Picked this up on Saturday.



Found it over on NC4x4.
Definitely needs work but figured it would help us with how much stuff we haul in the 4Runner on trips.




Met up with my friend Troy in Belmont and we headed over near Uwharrie to pick it up.


Ended up being a little farther than I thought but was a good trip.
