I recently purchased a 2002 T4R Limited with 89,000 miles on it. It was a 1 owner vehicle in immaculate condition. The previous owner traded it on a new T4R and had not performed the 90K maintenance on it.
I went to the local yota dealer today and got a list of what they do @ 90K:
Coolant flush - $109.95 (looks clean, good to -30)
Transmission flush - $159.95 (smells and looks clean)
Throttle Body service - $99.95 (what do they do?)
Engine flush - $109.95 (definate rip off)
Front diff. service - $109.95
Rear diff. service - $119.95
Spark plugs - $99.20 (1 hr. @ $86/hr.)
Timing belt/water pump - $957.24 (9.1hrs. @ $86/hr.)
Grand total - $1776.09 + tax
Looks like I'm being double charged for the coolant since they have to drain it to do the timing belt/water pump.
There is no mention of replacing the other belts, thermostat, pullies, seals. Looks like this could reach $2000 before all is said and done.
Has anyone gone way beyond 90K before changing the timing belt, since it is my main concern?
Is this a non-interference engine?
