well i been lurking around here for a while and posting in some of the threads but i guess its about time to start my own build thread as i got the truck back now....

so this is the way i bought it bone stock.. got a deal on it because of the engine knocking.. only gave 100 bucks for it. planning on tearing it out and rebuilding it with in the coming month or 2 and then let the mods begin..

its not the prettiest or meanest looking runner on here( which is why my fiance hates that i bought it, but i think i did pretty good for 100 bucks.) but hopefully in a few months i have it looking good as new

bought these from a guy for 150 maxxis bighorn 32 11.50 15 with about half tread and the black steel wheel that he said came off a land cruiser.

and this is the rebuild kit that i have still got some stuff to get though, water pump, timing belt, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, belts and hoses but then she should be running like new..

hopefully i be able to keep pics of the progress so that i can post them on here as i get things done but as the title says its gonna be a slow build moneys tight as im fixing to get married and i also gotta work around my work schedule and my fiances dads work schedule as hes gonna be the one helping me with the rebuild.

any advice or comments will be greatly appreciated.

head mating surface. for those of you that dont know i took it in for the recall and toyota said that the gaskets werent blown but from the looks of how clean one cylinder on each side is i think otherwise.

ok so its been a while since i last posted but through all this i have had to buy a head because of a tore up cam journal. had that one and my good one rebuilt. found out that the head gaskets that came in my kit are upside down and had to buy another set. tore the bottom end apart to find two broke connecting rods tore up crank, broke main cap, and a cracked block. found a block for a decent price tore it apart to find everything looked good, except the bottom end has been rebuilt in this motor before and has a turned crank in it, therefore my bearings that came in my kit wont work. so after two trips to a junkyard 3 hours away round trip, buying parts that i didn't think i would need and over 2 months of the engine being tore apart i plan on beginning reassembly within the next week or two. no pics right now but i plan on posting some up in the next couple days. hopefully i have everything that i need and can have this truck up and running in the next month.
