90 v6 bad fuel leak

I've got a 90 v6 auto 4x4 thats leaking fuel very badly from what looks to be the top of the tank on the passanger side. Only leaks when engine running and stops leaking when engine is turned off (after fuel pressure leaks out lol) was told it may be the fuel sending unit? I was guessing maybe fuel lines, but the run out of the drivers side iirc

is this a common problem? the fuel sending unit?

I know that in the 22re equipped 4 cylinders the fuel pump mounting bracket can rust really badly on the top and it pretty much can disintegrate when you try to replace it. I have never heard of one being so bad that fuel began leaking out of the tank as a result.

It sounds like a leaking fuel return line.

just got it back together. fuel sending unit literally fell apart!:shrug: surprised it ran at all lol Now runs smoother and gets more than 3 mpg lol :bravo:
