91 4runner engines probs

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum, so thanks in advance. I've had said vehicle for about a year now and in the past month have been having some engine problems.

First off, it spudders and shakes like it gonna stall wheneve r I gas it, except when I gas it hard and fast. Even as I'm driving at a steady speed, I feel it spudder alittle. I've changed the distributer cap and rotor so far. Next I was gonna change the oil, spark plugs and wires, fuel filter and see if that fixes anything. Then after that I considerd driving it off a cliff, but there are no cliffs in Florida. Any help is greatly appreciated before I put any money into this thing. By the way, a friend of mine said I could have spun a bearing, but have changed oil yet to find any metal on oil plug.

The oil shouldn't cause the sputtering. Since you don't know when they were last changed, it can't hurt to change out the plugs, spark plug wires, and fuel filter. Over the years, I've seen all of these cause sputtering at one time or another.
