91 rear tire rack. i got questions

ive seen some factory rear racks that swing away from the tailgate. usually have a spare mounted on them. id like one for mime. here is my question...

is there internal reinforcement where the thing bolts to the truck? can i just bolt one on (if i can find one) or do the factory trucks with those racks have something special going on?

know what i mean?

Yes the OEM swing-away mounts have internal reinforcement, as should aftermarket ones. Other aftermarket ones are part of a bumper system that holds all the weight.
