I searched the threads only found one that was close but not exactly my problem, so I think a thread will be of use.
Issue:
In the AM, my baby won't start until cranking on her for some time. I have had to replace the battery, because I wore it down to beyond re-charge.
Symptoms:
As stated, hard start. Cranks fine. Floods easy. After cranking it over for 5 seconds, it starts to fire a few cylinders. Then, I have to hold the throttle just right, and then it will start, idles rough for a few seconds, then she's fine all day. Starter fluid is of no real help. Before she starts up, but during the phase where it kinda starts to catch, she "burps" a little through the air cleaner. Not a back fire, but what looks like exhaust.
