92 4Runner Air Filter Vacuum

1992 4Runner V6 auto 3.0 L

Got this rig a few months ago, it has a K&N filter on it.. no cold air intake, just a drop-in.. im wondering about the hose going into the Filter. Looks like the guy before me punched a hole in the end of the Filter and put the breather tube from the Air cleaner box into it.

So here it is with the new bigger filter..just put the hose down by the headlight. Any input about the vacuum line? Should i run it into a connector before the sensor?
