Hey guys my names jon and I just bought my first car that's one hundred percent mine and paid off, a 1992 4runner sr5 v6 3.0 4wd 5 speed and I have a few questions about its body damage and some options.
Let me start off with all known problems, when you turn real deep it grinds and creeks, my friend who is a service tech for toyota said this is typical of all toyota trucks but isn't sure exactly what it is, mechanically everything else including the head gasket which I hear are prone to go out on these is in good condition.
Now about the body, the guy I bought it from slid it into a ditch and the passenger side front in is slightly bent and well the rear end is rough as the picture shows but for $900 I think it was a good deal.
Now here's what I'm thinking about, it would be real hard to fix that body enough for glass to be put in and stop the water leaks, I have seen people cut back ends off of 4runners to kind of give it a truck bed but how would you seal up the cab if you did that, any suggestions about how to do this if I do it? I have full access to a body shop so I have the tools.
