92 SR5 Stereo Questions

Allrighty, I'm installing my CD Player/Amp/Subs in my T4R today, I noticed that in one of the removable kick panels in the rear of the truck, there is an Amp? well... it LOOKS like an amp... I was wondering if there was some way of adjusting the gain on this?. I'd like it to keep boosting the mids/highs with it, and use my other amp purely for the sub.

I'm using a scosche adapter for the factory wiring harness, is the factory amp going to retain the use of the factory amp with an aftermarket stereo?

wow, I was digging around this "amp" and I found out that it isn't any kind of amp I've ever seen. it's a black box, pretty light, has Audiovox model 832-SD on it, it has a couple of wiring harnesses on it, and a CB-Radio-style Coaxial cable running into it..... O_o?

I googled the model number, and came up dry... anyone know what this thing is???

haha, found out what it is...

it's a Cell Phone Accessory. Some kind of massive signal booster or some such. It has a power input, a Coaxial output (that goes to a thru-glass antenna), and an input cable (that looks like a PC-IDE cable) that runs to the front of the truck, and comes out near the shifter, where an old metal mount for a car phone once sat.

dang thing must have been professionally installed, if I mistook it for something factory. Maybe it WAS installed by the factory... wires were plumbed entirely too well. Box was mounted perfectly too.

Ah well, thought I had a free amp to play with :P

Thx anyway :P:party:
