92 with rear end sag

Hey everyone,

I've had my 4runner for about 4 years now and have had nothing but good things to say about it.

This month and the next I'm going to be rebuilding the entire body of it since I decided to keep it.

The 1 thing I haven't found as a easy eco-fix was how to get the rear end of the 4runner to be equal and higher.

I don't want to do a lift kit or anything but if anyone knows of a rear coil swap I can do like from another truck that would do the trick let me know please! Or if there's a aftermarket company that already has this addressed with a remedy that would be great.

I would love for it to sit up right nice and strong lookin' after I get all the body work done.

I'm going to be building a full length roof rack with a step ladder and Line-Xed bumpers aswell as the bottom 1/4 of the truck will be Line-Xed.

depending on the year of your truck you can swap your coils for fj coils (landcruiser), and put in some ball joint spacers. should be pretty cheap. i know the rears from an fj will definately work on your 4runner and will for sure give it that stronger look you want, but you'd have to check on the fronts if your interested
 
It's a 92 4runner v6 auto.

I thought the FJs are leaf springs in the rear? Or do they come in coils for certain year(s)?

I want the rear to sit taller than the front by a bit too. I'm going to be using this as a camping vehicle for the family so it's going to be loaded up with some weight. It's my daily winter vehicle too so 100kms a day it'll be driven.
 
Ok, I assume you have IFS? What you need for cheap lift from rear coils is a 80 Series landcruiser rear coils, and you need the 7 wrap ones. probably around year '97 would be good. this will give you about 4 inches of lift in the rear. I think ball joint spacers can give you about 1.5inches of lift just so you know. Obviously you will use the ball joint spacers if you have IFS. This will be a cheap method of lifting it. just make sure you will get the 7 wrap coils and not the 8 wrap. So you know, i have none of these things installed but i PLan to install the fj coils. you can probably get a deal on 2 coils for about $50. now if you want a better ride to it, you can go with a kit. here is a link to a great kit being sold for much cheaper than those $1000+ lift kits.

you can go with that if you want, talk to phil on there (strap22) he is a good seller and will help you out any way he can.

both options should hold up the weight with no problems, it just depends how much your looking to spend and what ride quality you are looking for.

You wouldn't happen to have a part number for the coils?

For the ball joint spacers, who makes those so I can search for the correct items?

yep that should be it. currently i may be buying some rear coils, i have yet to buy the ball joint spacers. for bj spacers, probably look for SDORI spacers, 4x4 or 2x4..whatever you have. sorry but i have no part number for the coils i recommend looking in classifieds/craigslist etc. for some, you will get them cheapest there. i would also recommend doing a little research to see if you would need any thing else, though i doubt it.
 
I'm pretty sure those are 7 wraps. Not 100% on that though. funny thing is, thats actually the pair i was looking at. i've tried contacting the guy a few times but he hasn't responded. not sure whats going on with those.
 
2 other option are the Moog cc225 heavy duty coils or Old Man Emu heavy duty coils, both will get you leveled.
