92 with some small problems/questions

snow runner

I recently bought this Runner and loving it. I had a 95 3.0 in the past and things didn't work out. Anyway, I finally got this guy, with the 22re, and I need to do some small probably simple fixes. The speed sensor does not work. Is there anyway to get an accurate reading with 33's and a 5" lift or not? I also, have a small oil leak that I will try to diagnose and get back to you. The odometer doesn't work but what are you going to do? I am very excited to where this thing will take me and open to building suggestions. Ill post some more pictures later.

Nice color!

I'm guessing the speed sensor and odometer are related. It might be just unplugged.

Even with stock tires, it looks like my speedometer is off by a bit, say 4mph when going 30, so roughly 10%. This is based on a few radar clocks headed over to Homewood, and it seems consistent....but I don't have an odometer test section close by so I don't know for sure that this carries over to the odometer.

Have fun with it! I personally like my 3.0, and for a 20+ year old vehicle it does fine going up steep highways up and over 8900', even when loaded down to it's limit. But when I bought it 10 years ago I realized my 0-60 speed would be going down when moving from a similarly powered V6 sporty car (Acura Legend) to a SUV. It's a little more aerodynamic than a friend's 86 Land Cruiser (aka "the Brick"), but not by too much.

Hey, thanks guys. I'm thinking about taking out the old carpet in the back and rino-lining it. Any thoughts on that? I slowly want to build this up. Also need names

You can regear the speed sensor in the tcase to match your diff gears and tire size, but it isn't cheap last time I checked. I'd get yourself a cheap dashboard GPS and use it as a speedometer.
