93 4Runner 3.0 V6 Auto Transmission Problem

Anybody that can help would be soooooo sooo so appreciated. My 93 4runner unfortunationaly had to sit for almost 4 years do to me being over seas. I did all the things one would normally do as far as changing the fluids and filters before driving it. I went to drain the transmission fluid and there was none. Is that possible? I do remember when I was driving it back then that occasionally the A/T Oil Temp would come on when I would drive 2-3 hour long trips. I would pull over and shut the vehicle off for a while and let it cool off. Then start back on my way with no further problems. Now heres my problem. The vehicle has been running good just like I remembered it to do. The A/T Oil Temp Light has came on a couple of times while I was pulling my 17ft Fish & Ski boat on about a 30 minute journey. The other day is was just a few miles from my house (not pulling anything) and the light came on along with the check engine light. Since I was just a few miles from home I did not pull over. The following day I got in my truck and attempted to go somewhere and it would barely take off. I checked the transmission fluid and it was burnt. I changed it out and was hoping this would atleast make it drive like it was but it did not. It is still struggling to move in any of the gears. Can someone please tell me just how screwed I might be on this. Thank you

hmmm... next time it starts slipping try putting it in 4lo and see if it's still slipping if it works then this is the common problem found in the shift solenoids... that's what mine did before it crapped out on me. but the loss of fluid is wierd. i have seen the atf lines corrode all the way through in the radiator and drain the atf into the coolant and vise versa slowly.
