93 4runner buy it.

Hey guys I'm new to this forum. I found a 93 4runner with 66500 miles on it it has been garaged since new except the last 2 years an older woman drove it since 93 I looked at it today and it is clean I mean clean almost all of the factory undercoating is still there no rot at all the only issue I really see is a cv boot is ripped. He is asking 5900 there is only one little dent on the gate not any scratches I could see and it has a new water pump and a new battery. It is a 3.0 and a auto....... Should I jump on this bad boy ........????

That's wat I said If I could get it for say 4500 would that be a good price...... Also what should I check out I'm a ford guy not a yota guy
 
Save yourself the misery of owning the dreaded 3.0/auto combo. A 3rd gen will last longer and serve you better. In my area 5900 would get you a late-model third gen
 
Too much

It is still an auto trans and an 3.0l if it was a 5 speed it would be worth more,i say no more than 4k.your better off with a 3rd gen.IMO.
 
Took a look at the listing, I'd be up to 4-4.5k. There is some rust starting in the bumper in the rear. There are not many low mile examples out there. If that was on the other coast, it would get 5k, all day long. After that many years, I would want the timing belt done. You might check the rad tanks to see if they are weeping at the seams.

i guess i dont under stand the whole if its a stick its worth more? I look at buying this runner for commuter and rare easy trail ride.. I would possibly up the tire size to a 31 but thats about it im looking at it for the aspect of 4 wheel drive during the winter and not a car.. i had a 02 f250 but it sucked fuel like you cant belive and i had a 01 4 banger wrangler with a 5 speed and it was decent on fuel 22 if i really really eased it.. and now im on a 06 mazda 3 5 speed... ehhh eww.. I found this runner from a buddy i can Buy for 4500 as of now cant get lower that is the price. all i can see is it needs a cv boot.. antoher odd thing is when i fully crank the wheel i seem to rub somthing not sure what it is .... it had a water pump a year ago. would this be smart to buy i guess is what i am asking .??? please some decent info.

The 3.0 is gutless and the auto just doesn't have the gearing/reliability that the manual does. Throwing 31s on it will just make the problem worse.

In my area, a clean 2nd gen would go for between $2700-$3800. For $5900, you'll comfortably be in 3rd gen territory, possibly 4th gen if you don't mind working on it a bit.
 
ok so if i was to keep the stock size tires then would it be worth it to buy it . i keep getting negative responses and i believe you but say i was to keep the truck stock . would it be worth buying.? this (seems) to be a decent truck. i would love another jeep wrangler but dont want to pay for one there NUTS!.....
 
alright so i guess brass tax.. i have till tmrw to decide to buy this truck i dont want to keep this dude waiting . should i buy it for 4500. it has a had a new water pump installed and not sure about the yota warrenty head gasket( would they still honor it)....66500 miles grandmother driven and garaged. all i can see it needs is a cv boot........?????????? balhhhh
 
Well, I guess I'll jump in and thoroughly confuse you (LOL)--my first 4Runner was a '94 with the V6 and automatic, and it gave me trouble-free service for roughly four years. It eventually developed some mysterious problem with the fuel system, and I sold it after it was fixed (and promptly went out and bought another, although with a 5-speed that time simply because that's what I prefer). No head gasket died on me, and no problems developed with the tranny, and it was around 200k miles. Oh, I bought it many years ago for $4k, so yeah, you're on the high end with the price.
 
I would love a 5 speed bit eh o well this one isn't I just am wondering if it worth it. I will try to squeak more out of this guy but I just don't wanna buy it and have it crap out ya no?

I don't advise this very often and i rarely do it.Bring cash and tell him 4K cash on hand take it or leave it.don't be afraid to walk at least a few feet and kick in another $150 and stop there.if he knows that he will possibly lose you and walk away then you could win,bring a friend if you decide to carry the cash.let us know what happens.
 
hahaha o im not worreid about him he is a state trooper. and a friend of mine.. But thats not a bad idea i would like to get this thing for 4g ill see what i can do tonight

Excellent Idea. I bought my 94' for 3600 and its in pristine condition as well. Don;t let him take advantage of you!
