94 4Runner 3.slow Stock Intake

Hi, new to the site, just picked up my first 4Runner in Jan. 1994 SR5 V6. A little disappointed with the 3.0L at first, but I love the vehicle.

I'm just curious if anyone knows where this hose goes. I can't find it in my Haynes manual. And I've tried searching for it on the forum as well without any luck. It attaches to the top of the stock airbox, so it's filtered air, but not measured. I don't think it's essential to it running properly as it doesn't go through the AFM. Could it be just for the cabin air? Any information would be useful thanks.

So not vital to my engine running? I guess I'm wondering if it's going to cause problems if it's left open or if I plug it?

Nm, I just put a crankcase vent filter on it, so should filter it enough to not be harmful, if that needed to be a concern. Thanks for the help.
