94' 4runner key ignition wont move.

Hey guys, I have this problem with my runner (115k miles). It's been like this ever since I bought it back in September of last year. I have to use a screwdriver and move the ignition switch separately from the ignition cylinder just to start it (yes, it is embarrassing). As much as I love it, I have to sell it to get something a little more fuel efficient seeing that I'm a high school senior without a job, it would really help the sell if I could fix this problem. Okay, so heres the dilemma: I put my car key into the ignition and turn it but it won't budge. It acts as if I'm using the wrong key, although I know I'm not because it turns a little bit and locks in the key but doesn't go into acc mode. Which is unfortunate because it has to be in acc mode to remove the ignition cylinder. And I am pushing in the retaining pin while trying to pull out the key. Also, I am a big DIY guy so I will refuse to take it into a shop. Anybody out there willing to share some knowledge? I'd appreciate it.

I'm not really able to help you much with your issue, but I can tell you that a '94 is a 2nd gen, not a 3rd gen. You might get better responses posting in the correct sub-section, but I'm sure someone will chime in with something for you regardless. Good luck.

Also, what are the buttons on your steering wheel?
