94 Manuel 3vze starts idles but won't drive

Hi. Please help. New to forum.*
Have a 94 toyota Manuel 4x4 pick up with 3vze. Bought with no start issue. I got it running!**

Problem: will idle n run but will not drive when thrown into 1st gear. No codes stored. It goes into 1st n will drive for a couple feet before it bogs down and dies...any suggestions?

Have you checked the throttle position sensor

Hi thanks! No not yet. Idles fine tho. Is there a way to quick check/eliminate that as a possibility?

I heard you can just unplug them and see if it makes a difference or you can test them with a multimeter by back probing the plug google and youtube will give you instructions on how to test it

Make sure you've released the emergency brake.

Toyota 22RE Throttle Position Sensor

I have a ford e350 box truck that would suddenly shut off when put in gear, along with not wanting to start, and putting out some black smoke when giving it the gas. It ended up being a $25 item called the 'engine coolant temperature sensor'. When this item fails, it shuts down everything. I found this out using my first code reader, and of course after replacing everything involving a thorough tune up. Good luck to you.
