94' V6 belt problems... help!

Hey,

So today i was driving and blew a belt. It appears the water pump/ fan pulley is loose or broken, either that or when the belts were attached they held it in place (im not sure). I dont know what the issue could be is it just a water pump replacement fix? Or new belts? Any input or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

water pump is turned by the timing belts underneath the time belt covers, i have a 91 v6 and im pretty sure the engines are almost identical so i dont see how you could see the water pump through all that. if in fact the timing belt did blow then you could have some serious issues with your valves. friend of mines timing chain on his 4 cylinder snapped and he bent all of his valves, hopefully thats not the case for you. most likely a drivebelt im sure, which connects the crankshaft to the power steering, alternator, and smog pump, depending on the accessories. the crankshaft also turns the timing belt which controls the water pump but is seperate from the other belts. losing a drive belt can cause whatever its connected to stop working, such as loss in power steering or charge from the alternator.

Yeah i lost powerstearing while driving and it ran to get me the rest of the way home, i think its just fan pulley bracket the pulley section came loose from the whole unit (does that make sense). Would this bracket be a tough fix? (the pulley in the center that holds the fan) Or should i seek professional help because of the other belts involves? Thanks
