95 3.0 engine knock

I need a little help here....on my truck it makes a knocking sound when it first cranks up when it is cold outside. It only does it till the motor warms up and then it runs great, it will not do it again until it sits for several hours. Is this nothing to worry about like i have been told or what?? how can i remedy this issue?

i believe what your hearing is the same thing i have too. one or multiple cam lobes have been worn enough to make a clacking sound when cold. as they heat the metal expands and they stop clacking. i wouldnt be able to tell you 100 percent unless i heard it but this sounds like what the same thing i have. it's annoying but it's better that a lifter be slightly too loose than slightly too tight.
