I picked up a free 1995 4runner from a good buddy yesterday. Has almost 180,000 miles on the clock. I'm big into Volkswagen's and Audi's so don't know too much about toyota's. He was driving it about two months ago headed home and out of no where something in the motor started knocking. The 4runner drove home just find. He was easy on the vehicle the whole way home. He pulled the top timing belt cover off and didn't see anything abnormal. Has a brand new timing belt. I'm assuming it has a rod knock. I haven't started it since but plan on it tonight. I'm figuring I'm going to be looking for another motor. Let me know of Any information to check out.
