95 4 runner high in front

hi i have a new , use 95 4 runner with 125k on it its in real nice shape, question the front is real high , its a stock sr5 v-6, is it possible that the torsion bars were adjusted too high, if not is it a bad idea to put air shocks in back to level it ...the back is not sagging its the front high,

ALL Toyota pickups and 4R's from that vintage have sacked rear springs. Solution would be to have them re-arced, or get new ones.....but new will be pricey

If for some weird reason it actually doesn't have a sacked out rear end (ie you've already fixed the springs), then the torsion bars in the front are a possibility. I have no experience with air shocks, so not sure if that's good route.

thanks , but is air shocks bad idea, first 4 runner 8+toyotas, it rides great but looks a little weird.
i was thinking air shocks has anyone ever priced out springs??

Not that I have seen, post a pic and we can tell you if you got the sag, which I am 95% sure that is what you have.

Just get new shocks and coils and you will be set.

new springs at autozone

hi at autozone new coils at 58.00 pair does this sound right

The previous owner could have raised the front end by adjusting the Torsion bars.
But that era of Runners is known for Saggy Butt Syndrome.
I'd go with new rear springs (and maybe shocks). If you have the $$, Old Man Emu makes some nice springs that will give you an excellent ride and ~2" of lift. Their shocks are great too.

hey man,
congrats on the new truck. youll love the 2nd gen 4runner. ive already had two and im only 19. theyre great trucks.

the sag your referring to happens on all 2nd gen 4runners. they came with weak springs from the factory. there is a simply remedy. you have a choice of springs from either Downey, Performance Products or Old Man Emu(OME). i personally am running OME and theyre hailed as a very good product. simply upgrading your springs will solve your problem. if you have any further questions about a setup, let me know. more than happy to help out. good luck.
