Hi, folks, my first post here.
I bought the truck a few weeks ago knowing that it made this sound, which I suspect is an exhaust leak. It sounds like loud, pulsating rush of gas being forced out of a small hole. It's from the driver's side, and it only happens under acceleration. It's quite loud, even with the windows closed.
I tried to find it, but couldn't hear it parked with my head under the hood. I got the wife to cover the tailpipe with a rag and I pulled the accelerator cable while listening, but couldn't hear anything over the normal engine noise.
So, is this an exhaust leak? What can I do to verify it? This is our only car, so if I pull it all apart, I'd better be ready to fix it.
