95 Head Gasket Recall

Curious if anyone out here owning a 95 model has had any success with the recall? Mine blew at 80k miles about 4 or 5 yrs ago and Toyota would do nothing for me. I've recently called several dealers to check for updates but there's nothing new to report except for the Steering Relay Rod recall recently posted. I've filed complaint with the NHTSA and recommend that others here that have had problems do the same.

I have a 93 and Toyota replaced mine I don't remember the year it was done though.

I know we had about 60K or so on it when it was done so we went ahead and had them put a new timming belt on too all we had to pay for was the parts.

You should have contacted Toyota customer service or such.

If there was a recall/ they should have taken care of this.

Did you have someone else fix it and then wanted Toyota to pay?

Hell there was a recall on my 96 T-100 HG for the 3.4L and they fixed that.

I actually went thru a toyota dealership for the repair when it happened, thinking it would be covered by the sludge recall or something. I had conversations with the toyota regional service mgr. They wouldn't touch it and insisted it was my fault for insufficient maintenance, which was bull. I really feel like I should be reimbursed for the hg & the labor. Its a known problem that toyota chooses to ignore. If someone out there has a success story I'd love to hear it.

Read below for complete details then call the Toyota Regional head Office for your are and they will give your local dealership 48 hours to comply and give you a free rental vehicle.

Thanks for the list of sources - I've visited them all. Has anyone out there actually purchased the report from ALLDATA.com? I'll be visiting a local dealership tomorrow for the steering relay rod recall and will again discuss the situation and obtain some more details on the TSB's listed. I'll then follow up with a written complaint to the regional service mgr (again). Anyone out there had any success or other suggestions?
Thanks

head gasket recall

I had my 4 runner head gasket blow at around 160,000 miles and Toyota had no problem replacing it. gotta love Toyota for that.
