hello, Im a proud owner of a 95' v6 SR5 4x4 4runner. this is my

first 4runner. Sorry if theese questions have been anwsered

I will be a long time 4runner owner. My 4runner has 150000mi.

I just bought this truck for a good deal and want to take really

good care of it. 1.what are some things i should look at or know

about this truck?? 2. what are some of the reccomended milages for things such as

timing belt? trans flush? spark plugs? and so on.
AND 3. i was driving on the highway appox 70mph for 1 and 1/2 hours

and the the oil gage is reading LOW and the temp goes way up to

almost RED, Way to hot. what is

some simple stuff to checkto see why it would do that?

one last thing 4. what are the steps to cleaning the throttle body?

or things to do to imorove gas milage

We need to know more specifics about your 4Runner. Type of engine, transmission, if it's lifted, tires, gears, etc.

When I've purchased cars I've made it a habit to change all the fluids, plugs and so on. It's just good measure not to trust someone that has been thinking about selling a car especially if its been several months. As for mileage really work on the efficiency of how the motor breaths such as air intake exhaust.

Not too sure on the american models but usually if the vehicles are on the red over here in the UK we normally

check for air pockets in the cooling system
check for problems with the thermostat sticking or gone
is the fan coming on etc..

could even be a faulty temp sender but more than likely need to check the others first

As to the oil being low..if they operate the same way as over here the oil gauge measures the oil pressure and not the amount of oil..so get out and check that trusty disptick.

dont drive whilst on hot or you could knacker the head and its serious money and the head could warp, crack or even damage the pistons etc..

Oil temp while at idle will read low, when driving should be in the middle.

Your temp gauge is Hot and you need to check out the cooling system, first thing I would check is the thermostat. you don't want to run Hot and risk blowing your head gasket and ruining the engine.

Timming belt 60K
Tranny 30K
plugs 30K
Check your owners manual for others.....I would pick up a shop manual to help.
