95 toyota 4runner spudders

im working on a 95 4runner i just got the headgasket fixed. i noticed when i take off from a stop the truck spudders. i just replaced the spark plugs and wires along with cap and rotor and it seems to run smoother but still spudders when you take off but when your up with speed its fine. just only on take off. thanks p.s im replacing the fuel filter today and see what happens from there.

My truck did something similar, when taking off from a dead stop, it hesitated, and kinda sputtered, and also had really weird revs when driving through town at 20. I put Seafoam in the engine, and it solved all my problems. It cleans out all the carbon and crap that is in your engine. I feel it may have given me more power, but thats prolly cuz i was used to the dirty engine, instead of the clean one. I'd say if ur fuel filter doesn't do it for ya, give Seafoam a try (I know i sound like a commercial, but it really does work!)

thanks for the reply im gonna do that i forgot about that. right now its in the shop i took it back to the guy that did the headgasket job. he told me that he will look over it might be a defective plug he put in. but im definatley gonna run a full can of seafoam in there.

having much worse issues with my '93. won't run at all now. Spark Plugs changed, fuel filter changed, cap and rotor changed, coil changed, fuel lines checked, fuel pressure checked, Not sure what else to check on it. In it's second shop now.

I just purchased a 95 with the V6 and automatic and it idles and runs rough as well. Got this one cheap so Im gonna do a complete service and seafoam the engine to see if that may help it out. I think 500rpm is a little low, what should it idle at? What other things should I be looking for that may give problems down the road?
