I just picked up a 95 SR5 V6 with 288K miles a couple of days ago and I noticed a pretty good fuel leak coming from the top of the tank when I tried to drive it home (had to be towed). Most likely that the fuel line is busted.
As I was going to take out the fuel tank shield/skid plate, i saw the bolts holding it in were really soft so i took my time to take them off, almost rounded a couple off so I stopped once i got the plate off. Also, the bolts for the tank towards the front look hard to get to (it looks like the frame covers around the nut of the bolt).
- I want to replace those bolts, are they a special kind of bolt or can I use any kind as long as the thread and length are the same?
- Is there a way to get to the front bolts of the tank or am I not looking at it right?
