95 with an alarming noise from front end

First I'd like to say hello and what a great forum. I just recently traded a 2000 s10 for this 95 sr5 with 140k miles. I have done a tune up, ect, and that bastage of a coolant hose on the back of the block. I also suspect that I have injector problems, but I will get on with it. Sometimes, usually when turning left, I will get a loud clank from the front end. It will do this and ride kinda ruff, then when it does it again it smooths out. I did notice the sway bar bushings look a lil wore, couldn't get any play from ball joint, tie rods seem to be ok all though alignment is off a bit. Any suggestions on what the noise is?

Is it any left turn or only hard left? If it's all the way to the stops then it is probably your steering stops. Try greasing them up. My '95 did the same thing when I turned hard left, and I thought the noise was way to horrible sounding to just be the steering stops....but it was just the steering stops

I agree with Stromboli. I found the same thing when I turned hard in my 94 4runner. I thought it was a ball joint at first but then someone told me that it was the stoppers. My my understanding its just a bushing on your spindle that hits the lower control arm when you fully turn in one direction. Lube it up and you should be ok.
