I am maybe looking at a 95 with what is described as a rubbing noise coming from one wheel on occasion.guy thinks it might be the 4wd but really is not sure. any suggestions as to what I should check?? it is a decent price and is *described* as being in nice solid shape. thanks a lot guys, you :guitar2:

Is it only when the wheel is turned? Most likely it is the steering stops on the lower part of the steering knuckle contacting the control arm. The noise is normal. Also if you have over sized tires, it is possible they could be rubbing on the front bumper lower plastic valance.

I had the same problem with my 91. Pretty constant rubbing noise whether or not in a turn. Turns out it was the axleshaft I put in it. Replaced the old (torn boot) with a new one from Checker (Shucks/Kragen now O'Reilley) and the noise started. Repacked the bearings, replaced the front diff (dont' ask, DSPO) and the noise remained. Finally replaced the axleshaft AGAIN with a good junkyard unit and the noise disappeared.
