need help with a starter remove and replace, are the bolts from the front of the starter or the rear?

Im pretty sure the 2 bolts are facing the rear of the vehicle. You will probably need a long extension and a ujoint for the socket. It is not a fun job but it can be done. You will probably want to take the driver side wheel of to. I helped a friend of mine who had a 1999 with the 2.7. You will have to remove the brake line that is in the way to. I would recomend if you choose to have your starter rebuilt. It is cheaper and at least you know how it has been treated. Once you get that done you will want to make sure to bleed your brake system. I didn't want to disconnect the line but we tried to get it out and there was no other way. Another thing Im sure you would already do this first is to disconnect the battery. Anyway good luck.
