96 4Runner springs

I have a 96 4runner. New to this gen. runner. Always had older ones.
This thing sits REAL low. Needs springs etc. It is on stock 225/15's but to me I never seen one sit this low. And yes it's 4x4.
Will the rear spring and front springs and struts from a 2001 fit my 96?
I have included a pic to see how low it is.

Welcome, yes they will fit, but 01-02 sat lower than the 96-00's so i would pass. Buy some 99 highlander suspension from Toytec, and you will be riding high. Is it a 4 banger? 5 speed or Auto? And nice color, we don't see too many of those.
 
I agree, get the '99 tall coils and some 265/75/16s when it's time for new tires. Those rims you got are the stock "split 3-spokes" and are 16s, not 15s. Your door jam sticker is incorrect, only a "handful" of 4runners actually came with 15s. With the 265/75/16s (32s) and '99 tall coils, you'll sit about 3" higher overall than it is now. It looks like your current tires are 265/70/16s (30.5s).

It is a 3.4 V6 auto.
Thank you. Color is Steeler blue pearl is what the code told me. It looks purple with the sun on it.
I don't really want to lift it alot. I just thought it was real low. I forgot to add that it is 9" to the bottom of the running boards. Just seems low to me.
I was looking up new springs etc on Napa's site and noticed they have 2 different springs. One for 15" rims and one for 16" rims. I was thinking about getting the ones for 16" rims but not sure it it would be any different. Same price so I guess it couldn't hurt.

NVM, he has 16's, thats way too big for a 27" tire.

BTW If you remove the running boards, it looks taller...

The rims are 15". Has 225/75/15 tires

I beg to differ, I know of no split 3 spokes that were 15s. I have the same wheels sitting on my porch (which reminds me I need to try to sell them). If anything you may have the wrong size tires mounted on those wheels.

Yeah, they did look like they could be either 15's or 16's, yeah, if i was you i would find someone getting rid of there 16" trispoke rims as they come cheap and the 265/75/R16's and do the 99 Highlander suspension, and remove the running boards.
 
I'm sure you're correct and it's a 15, but I would measure the rim just to make sure. It wouldn't be unheard of for a tire shop to just read the door sticker and mount a 15" tire on a 16" wheel. It's possible and it's dangerous.
 
The 3 spoke aluminum wheel did indeed come in 15's. they are on my parts truck.

and ToyTec doesn't sell the Highlander suspension. we do have alot of other stuff though. check the link in my sig

In fact, I have two 15" rims right now with the slicks on them :D two more without tires, so I still have a full set of these things!

After all your replies I decided to check the rim itself and it is 15"

I know where there is a couple of sets of 16" like these off a Taco guess I'll check them out.

I guess I never paid much attention to stock wheels, but I just never knew those wheels came in 15s. I thought they would have been ugly stock steelies like the ones my Dad got on his Taco. Too bad you're far, I have my old 16s for sale fo cheap. You could just stick with 15s and get 31x10.5/15s and those are close to 265/75/16s (cheaper too). I don't know, but I think 32x11.5/15s would rub without a bigger lift.

That's definitely why your runner looks so low, you got 29s on there! Your suspension probably isn't quite as saggy as you thought, but it would still be a good idea to replace the stock coils and shocks. And since it's time anyways, you may want to just go ahead and lift it 2 or 3" since the cost is about the same whether you go OEM, 1" '99 OEM, or 2-3" aftermarket.
