Ok guys brand new to the forum but just bought a 96 runner today. It has the locking rear diff on it and my question is does the locking rear have a different rear diff axle ratio that would cause the gas mileage to be worse than others?

either 4.30 or 4.10, most likely 4.30..
With mpg's, clean in air filter, MAF, throttle body, air the tires, grease things that need grease, change oil if needed, spark plugs.. etc.
