Hi Folks,
The rear brakes in my 96 lockup the first few times I stop. I know this isn't an uncommon issue but thus far I"m yet to see a consistent reason for it.
I just picked up a new set of shoes, no idea what condition the current ones are in (the truck is new to me as of a month ago), but the other day I noticed that both front brake lines are shot. They're dry as a bone and cracked to the point where I can see the inner lining.
Is it possible they're swelling and triggering the ABS? Maybe my weak rear shocks are letting the truck lean forward too much and triggering it? Do we have a proportioning valve for towing that might be screwed up by the lift?
Any ideas would be helpful, I'm not holding my breath that rear shoes will be fixing it. I've already ordered the brake lines, fwiw, just wondering if I should expect results.
