96 auto door lock

I have a 96 SR5 WITHOUT the factory alarm.
The door locks have ALWAYS locked when I start it.
Yesterday I had to jump start the 4runner twice.
This am I went and got a new battery and now the doors don't lock when I start it.
I looked in the manual, nothing, and just got done searching here (500+ Threads), and still no luck.
Anyone got any idea's?
Thank you

Are you the original owner? A previous owner may have had an alarm or keyless entry installed. If you haven't already, check behind the knee bolster panel under the steering wheel (4 x 10mm screws, uncouple the hood/gas door levers) and behind the drivers kick panel. Look for any wiring that looks out of place or modules that are not screwed to the vehicle. Its not unheard of to find old equipment in a used car. My folks have a used Astro with a remote starter in it, but never got the remotes with it. Off the top of my head, w/o the "factory" alarm (or aftermarket), ignition controlled door locks isn't possible.

Now I feel like a dumb*ss.
I could swear the locks locked when it was started when I got the 4runner. But I guess not.
I installed a Ultrastart alarm/remote start last year. I got out the manual and I now have the auto locks working. I don't remember programing it to do that but I guess at my age they say the mind goes first. LOL
THANK YOU
