96 headlights

needing to replace 96 limited headlights, what is difference between 96-98 and the 99-02 lights?

Save your money, and go with the aftermarket ones....

They are much better than the stock 96-98 lights anyway....even light output is better....I might be less fussy than some guys, but I got my set $170.00 some odd dollars, versus $200.00 per side??? Crazy! (Canadian Pricing, re****ed shipping costs)

that is the only difference, cool! 96-98 are more expensive anyways, like the clear look

Ill sell you my 97 headlights for 100 for both. They are OEM. Let me know. I'm doing a retrofit so don't need them anymore

You are one of the only people with more than 50 posts I've seen make that recomendation. Do you do a fair bit of night driving in rural areas?

There are threads if you search that demonstrate the light pattern of OEM vs. aftermarket lenses, but if you don't do much rural night driving anyways, it maybe isn't as big a deal to you as it is to others.

I never knew there was a difference in the headlights. The clear ones look great... add this to the growing list of things I NEED to get.

Actually I do. I live 30kms North of the main city, and drive along moose country for over half of it. Like I said in my post, maybe I'm not as fussy as others are?? I find, the one's I purchased, have a better light pattern than my stock 98's......might not be saying much there, but I'm happy with the light output. Any brighter, and people just get pissed at you and flash you their brights anyway.

I should also mention, that I also have the driving lights mounted in my lower valance, but don't really utilize them much either.

Everyone will have their own opinions on the matter, but I find the ones I bought are a great alternative to getting raped by the Stealership.

I also purchased the same lights as fightman after reading his thread. The aftermarket (glass!) I got off of ebay are SO much better than my old 97 lights. They alse produce about 2X as much light as the stock did.

Cost $90 for L + R; shipped to California.
