'96 Hilux Surf From Japan

Hey guys, I'm new from Okinawa, Japan and just purchased a '96 Surf. Its got a 3.0L TD under the hood. Pretty much stock other than a limited slip in the rear. I bought the truck to tow my bike to the track, but fell in love with it. Anyways, here are some pics of it. I've got big plans for it

That looks a lot like IanB's on here, he just imported one from Japan. If they were LHD I'd have one in a heartbeat too, gotta love the TD option you guys have (and factory rear tire carrier).

It sure does seem to be a popular color combo for that year, lol. HiluxHunter in Kelowna has one the same color as well.

thanks guys. yeah, its a lot of fun. im trying to pull some strings and import it to the states when i PCS, but dont know if im going to be able to.

and yes, this is a very popular color combo for this year. 3rd gen was this color, and 2nd gen was the red/maroon color. thats the only ones we have over here on island that ive seen. and mine is one of the very few TD.

Said its LSD not a locker, i asked on the british board, they said Rear locker wasnt available.

yeah, just an LSD. no locker. youd think its a locker by the way that thing eats rear tires though 0_o

So I just got back from a deployment yesterday and the first thing I did was take the ol' truck around the block! Oh how I missed her....

It's really cluttered in the shed right now, but this is almost everything, short the new tires which have not arrived yet. but here I have new rims, lift kit, shocks, body lift, lights for the front and rear, clear corners, Wheel spacers, roof rack bars, etc. I am just itching to get it on a lift and throw everything on her. While I've got it on the lift I'm flushing all the fluids and changing the oil pan gasket as it leaks just a little bit. man... I cannot wait to have Jenny lifted and lookin all pretty. Should be done by the end of the week.. But here are some pics, so enjoy!

That's a nice rig. If you find a way to get it over here, we'd love to hear about it. I'm super jealous of two things...the color and the factory swing away tire carrier.
