I was driving home 3 days ago (350 miles) and I stopped at a rest stop after feeling a vibration that came out of the blue. I was pulling a small light weight trailer that was unloaded. I went around and touched all the wheels...they were all warm except the drivers rear which was hot. Needless to say I was a bit concerned. I looked underneath and saw a small drip of oil. So I continued expecting to have something bad happen for 60 miles and stopped again. This time I felt all the wheels right away and they were all warm. I had the tranny in park and the e-brake on. I waited 5 minutes and checked again. This time all were warm except the drivers rear..it was hot again. I have not had time to pull it apart...but what does this sound like? a bearing or froze brakes? the oil would lead me to think bearing but I am bnot sure.
ALSO...if it is a bearing...can I remove the axle with just removing the bolts at the wheel? or is their the old "clips" on the axle end the enters the diff? thanks!!! Garth
