96 Sagging. Searched**

Hey,
This is my first post. I have a 96 T4R and it saggs in the back. I know moog makes the cc255 spring for the 95 to correct this. I called a local moog dealer and they do not make the same spring for the 96. Is ther anything similar for a 96? I dont want a lift , i just want stock height. Are the 95 and 96 springs interchangeable?

Thanks

I don't think there as an alternative for what your looking for. I think for what you want your options are only to replace the stock springs but if you were to do that I would recommend getting a set of '99 4runner springs. It'll give you a little lift ~1" of lift. And if you just get the rear '99 springs once they safg they should be about level with the front. Atleast not as bad as the older springs. If it were me for the price of new factory springs I would just get the performance products springs 199 for the set of 4 and you don;t have to worry about sagging again. They will lift your 4runner about 1-1.5" but to me it gives the 4runner a nicer stance and I hear nothing about good things for these springs. People say they reduce body roll and give the runner a more planted feel on the road. You can use whatever shocks you have but depending on how many miles are on those you may just want to change them at the same time.

I second the '99 coils since it's just a mild lift and mine handles quite solid.

Actually you should buy all 4 coils and I've found them on-line I think at trparts4u at under $250 a set.

I just got some used 99's at the scrap yard for 50 bux...The dealer wanted 82.01 a piece. So do you think these used ones should do me good?

Shoot i didnt see that you said all 4. is this going to be a problem? if the front is taller then isnt it going to look like its sagging eventually? I thought the idea was to start taller and settle to normal.

Any ideas. these springs should be here on thursday or friday. They are returnable if they arent the right ones. From what I know they should have 9 wraps. Ill post pictures before and after if all goes well.

You should be fine, The '99 coils will however sag after a while. As far as I know once you have the 9 wraps there right. Not all '99's however came with them so make sure you check.

recall

I had my stock rear springs replaced by a dealer for free because there was a recall. If you care, i'll look at the sticker they put on the inside of my door after they did it which i think has some info on it.

That would be cool if you did. Do you know if they will do it even though im not the original owner?

Ive been trying to get ahold of some 99 coils but so far not so good. Ive been dealing with the wrecking yard and the first time they sent the front coilovers and now they sent the springs with 7 wraps.
So im going to take them back and get my 50 bux.

If i cant get the dealer to do it ill just put a spacer in.

x2 what ebo said. I got my rear springs replaced in my '96 sr5 due to a recall for free and I'm not the original owner. I had this done probably about 5-7 years ago.

its cool. i just put some spacers in. i got them at jc whitney. $10 each, and looks perfect. took about 30 min to do by myself.
