96 Transfer Case Shifter

Does anyone know if the transfer case shifter on a 96 lights up? Do any of them or is that strictly aftermarket?

None of the older ones do 1996-1999. They have a 4wd indicator in your dash. The AWD button on the limited and later models may. Not 100% sure on that one.

My 1998 dosent light up and its indicator light on the dash is intermittent. However, My J shifter transfer case works properly. I think the switch or bulb in the dash is my issue with its indicator.

I did the nail polish transfer case shifter mod as seen here by Darwinian_Crusader https://www.toyota-4runner.org/member.php?u=114840 Shift Knob Color Fill Mod - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum . I figured it didn't light up before doing it but wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. Thanks for replying.
