'97 4runner Rumbling

Hi everyone, I was hoping you guys can help me with this problem. My 97 limited 4runner rumbles near the front somewhere, perhaps under the hood. Its a rumbling noise, like a rock-grinder grinding a rock. I can't tell if there is a vibration associated with the rumbling because my 4runner vibrates all the time.

The rumbling sound happens occassionally, about 50% of the time I make a turn turn, high or low speeds; and,occasionally as I drive straight, high or low speeds. But rumbling as I drive straight doesn't occur as much as I turn.

I conclude it not the road surface, as I have experienced this rumbling many times over many different road surfaces.

o man, how do u check these stuff? im a serious newbie. LOL can anyone tell me? if I get some professional to help me check how much would it cost?
